Champagne Ruinart
Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009
Dom Ruinart Rosé was created in 1962, fully respecting the identity of Dom Ruinart by simply adding Vin Rouge to the white blend. This Champagne Rosé is a rare elixir, sourced from the noblest Chardonnays, which enraptures the senses in a vertiginous experience. A luminous and delicate pink, with rose-gold reflections tending towards coral hues, which become more pronounced with age.
Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009 reflects the characteristics of 2009, a warm and sunny year.
The grapes harvested in the summer of 2009 reached splendid ripeness. Despite the extreme dryness of the summer, the climate remained temperate, allowing the grapes to ripen in ideal conditions, without any particular discomfort. This helped to preserve the intensely fresh notes of the Vintage.
Composed entirely of Grand Cru – 85% Chardonnay and 15% Pinot Noir vinified in red – the wine matures for 11 years in the depths of Maison Ruinart‘s historic Crayères, cellars carved out of chalk and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The choices made by Frédéric Panaïotis, the Maison’s Chef de Caves, to elaborate a vintage, the millimetric vinification and the exceptional ageing time make Dom Ruinart an extraordinary Champagne, characterised by freshness, complexity and power, skilfully dosed with precision and elegance.
Dom Ruinart Rosé 2009 presents itself to the eye with a soft pink colour, enhanced by raspberry-red nuances. The first reveals a warm and reassuring spicy blend of cinnamon, nutmeg and ginger that melds with the citrus freshness of blood orange and Chinese mandarin, then a floral bouquet unfolds, sublimated by notes of violet and peony and completed by saline notes of oyster. The palate opens in an enveloping and silky manner with notes of red fruit tart (pomegranate, redcurrant); it then becomes fluid with saline notes, concluding with a decisive and intense finish, prolonged by a delicate bitterness and a light effervescence.
