Champagne Pol Roger
Rosé Vintage 2015
The Champagne Brut Rosé Vintage 2015 by Pol Roger comes from a base of Brut Vintage (60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay) to which about 15% Pinot Noir vin rouge of the best Crus located in the Montagne de Reims area is added, before bottling and second fermentation. Produced only in limited quantities, Brut Rosé Vintage 2015 is aged for 6 years in the Maison‘s cellars before being released on the market.
The must undergoes two decantations, one in the press immediately after pressing and the second in stainless steel tanks at 6°C for a period of 24 hours. A slow cold fermentation at a temperature below 18°C takes place in stainless steel tanks with each variety and each cru separated. The wine undergoes a complete malolactic-fermentative fermentation before final blending. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle at 9°C in the deepest cellars of Pol Roger (33 meters below street level) where the wine is stored until the remuage strictly a la volée, a rarity in modern-day Champagne. The very fine and persistent mousse for which Pol Roger is renowned owes much to these deep, fresh and wet cellars.
The Champagne Brut Rosé Vintage 2015 by Pol Roger is pale raspberry colour with fine copper reflections. The nose is opulent and well structured with red berries and a rich spicy depth. The palate tastes refreshing backbone of acidity, which ends with a bursting sensation of red currant. A lively and extraordinarily long finish, to enjoy immediately for its freshness or to keep for many years to come for a richer and more opulent Champagne.
Ideal to match with fish such as grilled salmon or even sushi. It also goes perfectly with fruit tarts and other fruit desserts.
