Clos des Maladries 2018
Clos des Maladries is a very small parcel (0.16 hectares) located in the village of Avize. The grapes are mainly Chardonnay and were planted back in the 1970s by Etienne‘s grandfather. The soil is basically chalky and is composed by a specific type of it, called belemnite, granting the soil more minerality and acidity. Highly densed vineyards, with no pesticides applied and horse-ploughed, the grapes rest for over 48 months on their yeasts. Zero dosage (0 g/l) for this rare and intriguing Champagne. Limited production of 1,000 bottles.
