Champagne André Heucq
Hommage Parcellaire Les Vignes Blanches 2013
The Champagne Les Vignes Blanches 2013 by André Heucq is part of the Hommage Parcellaire collection, a limited-production series of parcel and vintage Champagnes.
The Les Vignes Blanches 2013 edition is made from 100% Chardonnay grapes harvested on calcareous and clayey soil – from the same-name lieu-dit – located near the village of Cuisles (Vallée de la Marne). First fermentation and maturation occur in fût de chêne, ageing takes place on its own yeasts for at least 36 months and no final dosage (0 g/l – making it a Brut Nature) for this powerful and tense Champagne de Terroir. Limited production of only 700 bottles.
The Champagne Les Vignes Blanches 2013 by André Heucq is pale gold in colour with green highlights and an abundance of small, quick bubbles that generate a sparkling sensation. To the nose it initially smells of flowers with hints of narcissus, mimosa, and fresh honey, then evolves towards a more vegetal character (verbena, fern), accompanied by dried fruits (almond, fresh hazelnut), breadcrumbs and iodine. On the palate, it is precise, sharp, with a dense texture, bold with a sharp liveliness, which sets the pace on the finish with aromas of white pepper. The finish, very mineral (salty and stony), is long, “sappy” and extremely tense.
