Champagne A. Margaine
Le Brut Magnum
The Champagne Le Brut by A. Margaine is the result of the blending of 93% Chardonnay and 7% Pinot Noir, where about 32% of this blend is composed of vintages from 2014 to 2019 (vins de réserve). The grapes come from Premier Cru vineyards owned by Villers-Marmery, in Montagne de Reims, where the Margaine family decided to make Chardonnay the protagonist, rather than Pinot Noir, as one might expect in this terroir. Malolactic fermentation takes place partially and the dosage reaches 7 g/l – making it a Brut.
The fruity scents of apples are distinct and can be felt on the nose, while in the mouth the Champagne Le Brut is endowed with excellent freshness and creaminess, balanced by a perfect sapidity. This cuvée is perfect in combination with fish aperitifs, like raw shrimps.
