Champagne A. Margaine
Blanc de Blancs Magnum 2012
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2012 by A. Margaine is made from 100% Chardonnay harvested by a careful and rigorous selection, harvest base 2012, from Lieux-dits Champs d’Enfer and Bayons et Broccots, their own Premier Cru vineyards near the village of Villers-Marmery, in the Montagne de Reims, where the Margaine family decided to make Chardonnay the star, rather than Pinot Noir, as one might expect in this terroir.
Vinification in steel vats and 30% in oak barrels, malolactic fermentation not required, maturing on its lees for around 8 years before dosage of 6 g/l – making it a Brut.
The Champagne Blanc de Blancs 2012 by A. Margaine is fine on the nose and reveals beautiful citrus notes (grapefruit and candied lemon). To the palate it is fine and chalky with its acidic structure giving it good longevity.
Produced in limited quantities of only 475 Magnums.
